Yellowstone National Park
Would you
like to learn about the oldest national park in the United States of America?
If so, this blog is for you. You will learn about its history and attractions.
History
Yellowstone was established way back in 1872, which was about 152 years ago!! The park forms a square-like rectangle, which is 63 miles from north to south and 54 miles from east to west at its widest point, so it covers an area of 3,472 square miles. The rectangle covers parts of Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.
Attractions
One incredibly
famous attraction is Old Faithful geyser, which can erupt over a hundred feet,
the good news is that it is right next to the beautiful Old Faithful Inn. That
is only one of the many geysers there. Below is a table with eruption heights
and activeness for three famous geysers.
All this formed because the Yellowstone super volcano erupted. It actually had two causes. First, it made Yellowstone the place with magma closest to the surface, only 3 miles below. Second, all the thermal features were made by the volcano, and geysers weren’t the only thermal features that were made by the volcano. As you may have guessed, hot springs are next.
Hot springs
are famous attractions, and some are really popular. For example, the Grand
Prismatic Spring is incredibly famous, and both the viewing decks are always crowded.
Another famous hot spring and attraction is the Mammoth Hot Springs. Mammoth Hot Springs is a bit of water trickling down a weird formation that looks like a staircase.
A mud pot is also another thermal feature, so it is boiling
hot.
The Grand
Canyon of Yellowstone is a famous place and attraction. The Yellowstone River
flows through this majestic canyon and also the Yellowstone River makes the
waterfall that drops over 400 feet down into the canyon. The river is 692 miles
long. This place is so gorgeous that you can spend hours hypnotized. The mist
below shows that even though the fall is so attractive, it is also dangerously
fast. There is also a lot of greenery on top of the cliffs that are made up of
different color stones. Some of the stones are yellow and beige.

Wildlife
One interesting thing about Yellowstone is its animals and
wildlife. Some of the animals are elk, bison, birds, pronghorn, bears, coyotes,
cougars, and bighorn sheep. Bison and pronghorn usually graze in grassy fields.
Bison can be seen alone, but they mostly live in herds. Another interesting
fact is that some scats have plant nutrients so sometimes plants grow in them!
FUN FACT: One elk has had a mind-blowing
experience of pushing a car!
I hope you learned something new about this hypnotizing,
flabbergasting place.
